Nevzat Bahtiyar faced retrial in Diyarbakır for the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who disappeared on August 21, 2024, and whose body was found on September 8. The prosecutor demanded aggravated life imprisonment for intentional killing in complicity after the previous 4.5-year sentence was overturned by the Supreme Court. Bahtiyar claimed he found the girl already dead.
