Paramount confirmed Top Gun 3 is officially in development with Tom Cruise returning as Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell. The script is currently being written by Ehren Kruger, with producer Jerry Bruckheimer involved. The announcement came during the studio's CinemaCon presentation.
